Touch New Zealand are taking expressions of interest for the 2023 Bunnings NZSS National Touch Championship, to be held in Rotorua on 8-10 December 2023.

This is an open-entry event, and we invite all secondary schools and kura across the country to register their interest in Boys, Girls, or Mixed Grades. Since 2020, this event has been open entry to create more opportunities for rangatahi participation.

This year will see further opportunities being offered to schools and kura:

1. Composite Team Entries: where two (or more) schools combine to enter a grade at NZSS.
2. Second team, same grade Entries: i.e., 2 x Mixed teams from the same school.

While this creates more possibilities, priority entry will be given to single school teams. Schools entering a Composite Team, or a second team will be added to a waitlist before being confirmed and only accepted into the event if there is space available. These teams will be ineligible to qualify for Kaurutanga (Cup) sections in each grade.

Key Information:

• EOI Registrations open until Saturday 27 May 2023.
• Schools to be invoiced by Monday 12 June 2023 – entry fee is $1000.00 + GST per team.
• Single school team entries are prioritised. If required, composite and second teams will be added to waitlist before being confirmed.
• Composite school entries must be approved by SSNZ before being accepted into the event. 
• Thursday 31 August 2023: Payment Due to confirm team entry.
• Entry fee is non-refundable should the team withdraw after Friday 20 October 2023.
• All players must meet School Sport NZ Eligibility Criteria. Link Here
• Players must be under the age of 19 as of 1 January 2023 (18 or younger)
• Teams are required to submit SSNZ Team sheet that has been signed off by school principal(s).
