Kia ora! This page holds information and guidance regarding player drafts and transfers for Touch NZ National Championships.
Firstly, its important to distinguish between drafts (permits) and transfers:
Transfer: This is where a player transfers to play from one province to another province at a national championship. Players that are seeking transfers are required to contact their provincial administrator. No form is required, and there are no longer fees payable to Touch NZ for transfers.
Draft: This is where a player requests to play for another province at a national championship (but still wishes belong to their home province). A draft applies when:
- A player is not selected to play at a National Championship by their home province in their preffered grade, and they wish to draft to a different province; or
- where the player's home province does not have a team attending a National Championship in their preffered grade.
Players wishing to apply to be drafted to another province shall complete the '2024 Touch NZ Player Draft' form below.
Where a draft is requested, the home province is required to approve the draft (permit) via Sporty.
Overseas Draft: This is where a player who is based overseas, wishes to submit a draft to play at a Touch NZ National Championship. Players wishing to apply, shall complete the 'Touch NZ Overseas Player Draft' Request Application Form.
Players must meet all eligibility criteria before the draft is approved by Touch NZ.

The Touch NZ Player Draft Board is a public listing that allows provinces to 'pick-up' players available via draft. Available players will be listed below.
